Stop managing access and policy through fragmented systems

Trust infrastructure for genomic and health data.

We’re generating bio-data at scale. Still governing by email.

Slow approvals

Weeks to clear each bio-data access request across institutions.

Files everywhere

PDFs, emails, and spreadsheets still manage signatures and approvals.

No permissions

Full database access or none at all - no standardized permissions layer.

01

Register governed datasets

Connect bio-data sources and attach standardized ownership, retention, and access policies from day one.

02

Assemble compliant workflows

Automatically generate the forms, approvals, and checks required for each data exchange as reusable, auditable workflows.

03

Issue time-bound, revocable access

Grant scoped, cross-institution access with explicit terms, expiration, and one-click revocation enforced by policy.

04

Capture consent & audit trails

Collect signatures, route approvals, and record every access as a signed, append-only audit event.

The missing trust layer for bio-data.

Security

Secure bio-data vault

  • Bio-data is encrypted by default in a dedicated, access-controlled vault.
  • Modern encryption and key management protect data at rest and in transit.
  • Built to support dataset-aware controls and stronger policies over time.
Governance

Controlled records

  • Treat bio-data like governed records, with clear ownership, retention, and sharing rules.
  • Structured to integrate with contracts, IRB workflows, clinical trials, and institutional policy.
  • Designed to plug into existing lab, research, and hospital systems.
Compliance

Consent & auditability

  • Capture signatures, approvals, and consent decisions for every access request.
  • Maintain a tamper-evident record of who accessed which datasets, across institutions.
  • Support HIPAA and GDPR aligned audits with exportable logs and controls.

Designed with input from academic labs, biobanks, and health systems.

Labs & health systems

Securely govern patient and cohort bio-data, embed permissions and consent into workflows, and give compliance teams clear audit-ready trails.

Research groups & biobanks

Replace email- and spreadsheet-based sharing with a governed platform for granting, tracking, and revoking data access.

Privacy-first custodians

Offer bio-data access as a service, with every use permissioned, signed, auditable, and backed by strong security controls.

Platform builders

Embed Cryptomics as a standardized permissions and consent layer inside existing healthtech, research, or data platforms.

Built by founders who live in both biology and systems.

We met as Berkeley undergrads when Krish accidentally wandered into a Berkeley Wildlife Society meeting. The room was pitch-black and filled with people silently listening to bird calls. Not wanting to be noticed, Krish sat in the back next to Jared, and we bonded over how strange it was.

A few weeks later we flew to a bio-automation hackathon in Boston, pulled an all-nighter building a codon-optimization pipeline, and won three awards including the main competition. Since then we've taken classes, run research side projects, and shipped systems together under pressure.

Today, all technical work is done by the founders. Jared leads system architecture and backend engineering; Krish leads product implementation and operations design, keeping workflows simple, governed, and practical.

Answers to common questions about Cryptomics.

"We can't keep governing tens of thousands of genomes via email threads and PDFs. We need access requests and approvals to be enforceable."

Bio-data is structured biological information about people, samples, or systems - for example genomes, proteomics, clinical records, imaging, and lab measurements. Cryptomics provides the standardized, enforceable permissions and consent layer for this data, making every access governed, revocable, and auditable.

No. Cryptomics wraps and augments the tools you already use instead of replacing them. We provide the secure vault, permissions workflows, and audit logs around the genomic pipelines you already run.

Your biological data stays in the storage locations you control (on-prem or cloud). Cryptomics connects to those locations and manages encryption, access workflows, and auditability across systems, acting as a permissions control plane rather than a replacement for your pipelines.

Cryptomics turns each access request into a signed, auditable event. Encryption plus clear records of who requested, approved, and used which datasets make it easier to show that data handling is constrained, documented, and aligned with governance.

Cryptomics is built for institutions that steward sensitive bio-data cohorts-from focused research groups and biobanks to large health systems and national initiatives. We typically start with a pilot in one group and then scale across the organization.
